A Night of American Masters:
- Hello Out There by William Saroyan
- 27 Wagons Full of Cotton by Tennessee Williams
Hello Out There takes place in a small town Texas prison, where a young man helps a young girl to discover that there is life beyond the walls of their worlds, bringing her hope of escape and discovery of a new life that the girl has never known before.
27 Wagons Full of Cotton is a play that explores the world of Jake Meighan, the owner of an unprosperous cotton gin in rural Mississippi, who burns down a rival cotton gin which was recently built on the Syndicate Plantation. While Jake is off enjoying the resulting increase in his business, his simple-minded wife, Flora, is seduced by the charming yet suspicious superintendent of the Syndicate Plantation.
